Description

Papyrus list of candidates for public offices, in the Apollonopolites Heptakomias, Egypt. One fragment mentions Antaios son of Hierax from Tanyaithis as the candidate for the post of scribe (of the strategos or highest civil official in the region?); he apparently owns land near Tanyaithis. The other fragment lists a property valuation at 10,100 drachmas and lists Besarion as a candidate for public office. Part of the papers of Apollonios, the well-known strategos of the Apollonopolites Heptakomias. Verso has an account of money taxes in Greek (P.Duk.inv. 512 V)
