A certain Aurelius Cornelius offers to lease from Aurelius Apollonius, honorably discharged soldier, two and one-half arouras of catoechic land grain land near Tanis, a village in the Arsinoite nome not far from the lessee's home town Philadelphia. The lease is to run for one year, at the comparatively low fixed rent of five artabas of wheat. Farm labor and dike maintenance are incumbent on the lessee, taxes and forced land assignments on the lessor. The latter signs the agreement of the offer in lines 23-24.
