Description

A list of villages with amounts of grain credited to each by certain individuals who were undoubtedly sitologoi. Of the 12 villages named, 3 of them whose location has not been previously known with any exactness, have marginal notes describing them as adjacent to specific villages whose locations are vely well known to us due to the excavations of Grenfell and Hunt. These are: Ptolemais, Ptolemais Drymou and Alexandrou Nesos, which are said to be adjacent to Euemeria, Dionysias and Theadelphia respectively.

About this record's data
  • From the source institution — accession, description, dimensions, and dating are as catalogued by Papyri.info — APIS (Advanced Papyrological Information System) — papyri.
  • AI-inferred — the image-analysis panel (deities, names, signs) is machine-generated and may be wrong.
  • Approximate location — most map points are plotted at the site centroid, not the exact findspot.
  • Inferred links — cross-references marked with a match method other than explicit-source-field were matched by us, not stated by the source.
  • Inherited across the Trismegistos spine — a Trismegistos ID names one ancient text, and papyrology splits that text's description across databases: the edition in one, the date and provenance in another, the physical papyrus in a third. Fields tagged via … on this page were read from a sibling record under the same TM number, not asserted by Papyri.info — APIS (Advanced Papyrological Information System) — papyri.
