Ἀλέξανδρος Ζήνωνι χαίρειν. εἰ ἔρρωσαί τε καὶ ἐν τοῖς λοιποῖς κατὰ νοῦν ἀπαλλάσσειςαπαλλασεις, εἴη ἂν ὡς ἡμεῖς βουλόμεθα. ἐρρώμεθα δὲ καὶ αὐτοί. παραγινομένου πρὸς ὑμᾶς Μυὸς ἔδοξεν ἡμῖν βέλτιον εἶναι αὐτῶι τε τῶι Μυὶ ὑπόμνημα ἀποστεῖλαι ἐν ὧι μνησθῆι Ἀπολλωνίωι περὶ τῆς συντάξεως ἧς ἔταξεν ἡμῖνἡμῖμ Μένετος. ὑπὸ τούτου δʼ οὐδὲἀποταχθῆναι ἕως τὴν ὀφειλομένην κεκομίσμεθα οὔτε ἀφʼ οὗ χρόνου ἐκεῖνοςκεῖνος τετελεύτηκεν οὐδεὶς ἡμῖντὴν σύνταξιν ἀποδίδωσιν. καλῶς δʼ ἔχειν ὑπέλαβον καί σοι γράψαι ὅπως ἐάν τινά σου χρείαν τὰ πράγμα ταπαρόντα ἔχηι συναντιλάβηι φιλοτίμως καὶ ἡμῶν ἕνεκεν καὶ Μενέτου. οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι σοῦοἷα ἂν αἰτήσωμέν σου βουληθέντος πάντα ἡμῖν τὰ φιλάνθρωπα ἔσται παρʼ Ἀπολλωνίου, καὶ ἡμεῖς δυνησόμεθαδιαγνωσόμεθα διὰ σὲ σεσῷσθαισεσῶισθαι καὶ ἀνεστάναι. περὶ ὧν σπουδάσομεν καὶ αὐτοὶ καθʼ ὅσον ἡμῖν καὶ δυνατὸν τὰς χάριτας ἀποδιδόναι σοι. εὐτύχει.
