Λυκαρίων Ἐμφούιτι τῷ πατρὶ πλεῖστα χαίρειν. πρὸ τῶν ὅλων ἐρρῶσ θαί σε εὔχομαι μετὰ τῶν σῶν πάντων καὶ διὰ παντός σε εὐτυ χεῖν. ἐάν σοι τῇ τύχῃ δόξῃ, ποίησον τὸν πατέρα μου ἐλθεῖν σὺν σοὶ εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν εἰ δὲ μή, καὶ ἐγὼκἀγὼ αὐτὸς σὺν τοῖς ἐμοῖς κιν δυνεύω καταλεῖψαι καὶ ἐλθεῖν πρὸς αὐτόν. γίγνωσκεγείνωσκε δὲ σύσε, ὅτι, ἐὰν μὴ τοῦτο ποιήσῃς καὶ προτρέ ψῃς αὐτὸν ἐλθεῖν καὶ συμβῇ τι αὐτῷ, ἴσθιεἰστις σεαυτῷ ὡς σου μέλλοντος λό γον διδόναι τῷ λαμπροτάτῳ ἡγεμόνι. διὸ παρακαλῶ οὖν σέ, φίλτατε, vestiges ἤδη ποτὲ πεῖσαι αὐτὸν τοῦ ἐλθεῖν. ἄσπασαι Διονῦσιν καὶ Μέλανον καὶ τοὺς ἐν οἴκῳἐνοίκουσ σου πάνταςπάντες. ἀπόδος ἘμφούιτιἘμφούιτι ἀπὸ Λυκαρίωνος.Translations (1)
Lykarion to Emphouïtis, his father, many greetings. Before all else, I pray for your health and that you may prosper with all of yours continuously. If it seems appropriate to you by fortune, have my father come with you to his own home. But if not, I myself also, with my own people, will take the risk to leave and come to him. Know, however, that if you do not do this and persuade him to come and something happens to him, be aware that you will have to give an account to the most illustrious governor. Therefore, I implore you, dearest friend, to already persuade him to come. Greet Dionysius and Melanon and all those who dwell in your house. Deliver to Emphouïtis from Lykarion.
