alabastron
Description
A Phoenician alabastron: the body is of translucent white glass with wide flat rim. Two handles on shoulder, each pierced and having the usual long flange. Threads enclose the central, decorated area of the body. Both the lines and the chevrons seem to be purple threads but they are so decayed that this is uncertain. Rim broken. Surface iridescent. Body assembled. Red-brown core.
