British Museum — Department of Egypt and Sudan · vessel
amphora (?)
Description
Fragment of a vessel: a thin fragment of translucent turquoise-blue glass, glossy surface, having a slender flame or feather pattern in yellow, white, and dark blue. This pattern was so frequently used to decorate the amphora with pointed base that it is probable this fragment is from a vessel of that shape. Tan core.
