Hymnody [VIII/IX(?) AD]
Description
Fragments of a Coptic Hermeniae in Sahidic: Folio 1 is similar in style and contents to Morgan Tome XIII; text should be compared with texts of hymns in praise of Anthony and Shenoute as found in Morgan Codex; Folio 2 from the same Hermeniae; hymn in praise of the Virgin Mary; bottom line of one page mentions an Alphabetas-hymn of St Gabriel: this hymn is not found in the Morgan MS (where, however, an Alphabetas hymn in honour of St Michael is given). c.f.
