Description
A special type of statue is the Stelophorus statue. The kneeling figure holds a small stele on his knees and the text contains a prayer to the sun-god, written in hieroglyphics. This statue was located in a niche in the facade above the entrance of a private tomb. The stelophorus statues are known from the 18th Dynasty to the Ptolemaic dynasty.
