Der genaue Anfang des Briefes ist nicht erhalten. Er startet mit den Worten سیدي ومولاي **** وأطال لله بقاءك وأدام عزك وتأییدك وسعادتك . Dies stellt eine typische Brieferöffung dar, die auf das 10. oder 11. nachchristliche Jahrhundert hindeutet. Der Name des Adressaten lautet ʿAbū Yaʿqūb und steht imAdressteil auf der Rückseite. Auf der Rückseite sind auch Teile einer Liste ersichtlich, die aber nicht in Verbindung zum Brief auf der Vorderseite stehen. (A. Kamal, S.
