Aus dem Text wird ein eindeutiger Bezug zum Fayyūm deutlich, da zahlreiche Orte aus dieser Provinz erwähnt werden wie Ṭuṭūn, Qambašā, Dimašqīn und Dumūšiyah. Der Adressat wird mit aš-Šayḫ angeredet ( حضرة مولاي السیخ الجلیل ). Thematisch geht es um geschäftliche Angelegenheiten wie unter anderen den Handel mit Weizen ( یطلبوا القمح ).
