Description
Schminkgefäße waren sowohl für Frauen, als auch für Männer eine wichtige Grabbeigabe. Sie dienten zur Aufbewahrung von schwarzer Augenschminke, die mithilfe eines Schminkgriffels aufgetragen wurde. Dieses Schminkgefäß aus Alabaster stammt aus Kerma, jedoch lassen Form, Herstellungsart sowie das typisch ägyptische Material darauf schließen, dass es sich um Handelsgut aus dem benachbarten Ägypten handelt. Das Gefäß lag zusammen mit anderen Toilettenartikeln und einem Bettfuß am Kopfende des Verstorbenen bei einer der Nebenbestattungen im Grabtumulus K III.
