Description

Reibpaletten dienten unter anderem zum Zerreiben von Schminke und waren übliche Grabbeigaben sowohl für Frauen als auch für Männer. Diese Reibpalette stammt aus dem Friedhof der nubischen Stadt Kerma. Die Palette ist aus Sandstein gefertigt, der vermutlich in der Umgebung der Stadt gebrochen wurde. Diese Annahme stütz sich lediglich auf die großen natürlichen Vorkommen dieses Steins in diesem Gebiet.
