Das vorliegende Dokument ist eine Besonderheit, da es sich um eine der wenigen Petitionen aus der Frühzeit des Islams handelt. Der Absender fürchtet sich vor Gefängnis (al-ḥabs) und Bestrafung (al-ʿuqūbāt). Was er sich genau hat zu Schulden kommen lassen, wird aufgrund des fragmentarischen Charakters nicht deutlich oder vom Petenten bewusst weggelassen. Jedenfalls hat er sich bei Gott und dem ʾamīr für sein Vergehen bereits entschuldigt (قد أعذرت إلى لله وإلى الأمیر ). A. Kamal, S.
