Description

Mit Stößeln dieser Art wurden z. B. Gewürze und verschiedene Pigmente zerkleinert. Die Gewürze wurden zum Kochen aber auch zur Herstellung von Medizin verwendet. Auch bestimmte zerriebene Pigmente nutze man im medizinischen Bereich, u. a. für Umschläge. Die Künstler stellten damit ihr Farbpulver her. Nach: Schmidt, S., in: F.
