Description

Alljährlich bevölkerten die Zugvögel die Nilarme des Deltas und wurden den Vogelfängern zur Beute, wie hier im Relief zu sehen. Ein Fangnetz ist im Papyrusdickicht aufgestellt, vier Vogelfänger halten das Seil. Köder locken die Tiere an. Ist das Netz gefüllt, gibt der Aufseher das Zeichen zum Zuziehen.Einige Tiere schlachtete man sofort und salzte sie ein, andere wurden in Käfige gesperrt und zum Mästen auf Geflügelhöfe verbracht.
