Description
Wurfhölzer wurden in Ägypten mehr bei der Jagd als im Kampf benutzt. Es kann zwar als Nahkampf- wie auch als Fernwaffe eingesetzt worden sein, verfügt aber nicht über eine ausreichende Wirkung. Sehr häufig wird es dagegen bei Darstellungen der Vogeljagd gezeigt. Diese sind vor allem aus den Wandmalereien in den Gräbern bekannt, in denen der Grabherr beim Erlegen von Vögeln zu sehen ist. (J.
