Description
Die beiden Ringe tragen die Namen des Königspaares Echnaton und Nofretete und wurden vermutlich in der Residenzstadt Achet-Aton, dem heutigen Tell el-Amarna, angefertigt. Diese Stadt war für Echnaton, den Sohn Amenophis’ III., das Kultzentrum seiner neuen Theologie, in der der Gott Aton, dargestellt durch eine Sonnenscheibe, über allen anderen Göttern des Alten Ägypten stand und verehrt wurde.
