Becherförmiges Salbgefäß mit Inschrift von König Pepi II. (Unguent vessel with an inscription of Pepi II.)
Description
Die Form des Gefäßes deutet auf den Gebrauch als Salbgefäß für kostbare kosmetische Öle hin. Die hieroglyphische Inschrift, in der sich noch Reste blauer Farbe erhalten haben, gibt den Eigennamen des Königs „Pepi“ sowie seinen Thronnamen Nefer-ka-Re („Mit vollkommenem Ka des Re“) in Kartuschen wieder. Der Horus-Name, der bei Pepi II. dem Nebti- bzw. Zwei-Herrinnen-Namen entspricht, befindet sich in der Mitte des Textfeldes und ist im Serech geschrieben. Der Goldhorus-Name Bjk-nebu-sechem („Mächtiger Goldfalke“) steht über dem Eigennamen. (J. Jancziak)
