Applikation aus Holz (Wooden appliqué)
Description
Zur Verzierung von Architekturelementen wie Architrave, Kioske und Hausfassaden dienten Applikationen aus verschiedenen Materialien. Neben Weintrauben aus Fayence wurden florale Motive als Dekor verwendet. Eine große Zahl solcher Objekte fand sich bei der Grabung der DOG in Achet-Aton, wie die hier abgebildete Applikation floralen Motivs aus Holz zeigt. Exemplare aus bemaltem Holz dürften zur Verzierung von Mobiliar gedient haben. Nach: Taschner, L., in: F.
