Description

Der Gott Thot wurde in Ägypten von der Frühzeit bis in die römische Zeit verehrt. Er trat entweder in Gestalt des Ibis oder als Pavian in Erscheinung. Eine seiner vielen Eigenschaften war die des Mondgottes mit der er unter anderem die Jahreszeiten und Mondphasen regulierte. Außerdem wurde er mit der Astronomie und Mathematik assoziiert. Auf dem Kopf trägt Thot die Mondsichel und Mondscheibe. (M. Jung)
