Description

Besonders häufig ist Thot in der Totenbuchvignette beim sogenannten Totengericht (Totenbuchspruch 125) zu sehen, wo er das Ergebnis beim Wiegen des Herzens des Verstorbenen protokolliert. Er wird daher überwiegend in Verbindung mit der Göttin Maat dargestellt, deren Feder als Gegengewicht zur Reinheit des Herzens genutzt wurde. Kleine Amulette sollten den Verstorbenen davor bewahren, bei der Entscheidung des Totengerichts zu versagen. (A. Weber)
