Description

Kaurischnecken wurden aufgrund der Ähnlichkeit ihrer Form zu der des menschlichen Auges eine Schutzfunktion gegen den „Bösen Blick“ zugesprochen. Als Gürtel getragen, sollten sie zusätzlich die Fortpflanzungsorgane schützen. Da sich Kaurischnecken großer Beliebtheit erfreuten, wurden sie auch aus Fayence und Metall nachgebildet. (J.
