To the representative of the temple of Amun-Re, king of the gods, Hori (of) the scribe of the necropolis administration Tjary and the troop scribe Pa-en-ta-nachtu from the temple of king Usermaatre-mery-imen (Ramses III.), l.h.g., in the temple of Amun: In life, health, and prosperity, in the favor of Amun-Re, king of the gods. We pray to Amun-Pa-Re, to Ptah, and to every god and goddess who is here in peace: May you be granted life, health, and prosperity, a long lifespan, and a venerable old age, much and numerous favor before Amun-Re, king of the gods, who sees you daily. Furthermore, the following: We have heard that you have returned and that you have reached Thebes, the city. May Amun-Re take you as a joyful reception and do all good for you. Now - we dwell here in the temple, and you know of our dwelling in it (=the temple), both inside and outside. But now the wards of the necropolis have come. They dwell in Thebes, while I alone reside here with the troop scribe Pa-en-ta-nachtu. Oh, may you arrange for the people of the necropolis who are there to be gathered in Thebes and brought to me, to this side. So that you may know them: Pa-en-neset-tawi, Nefer-jmen, Hori-mesu, Wen-imen, Pa-nacht-en-ipet son of Pa-neb-aqu, Imen-hetepu, and Qa-djadja - (thus) 7 men. Place them under the supervision of the scribe Bu-teh-imen. Let 〈them〉 be brought, as 〈they〉 hurry quickly and prevent them from standing completely still (lit.: like an (immovable) heap) - and together with Pa-cheru and the helper - (thus) 9 men. And send us what you have heard to delight our hearts. But if a greater boy (evil) plans, then you should let him come so that he may dwell here with us, just like Horef-er-nat and another as well. But nothing is known about an arrival/attack from the Meshwesh today, so that he (=evil youth) could have (conspired?) with him (about?) it. You know what concerns everyone who returns, he directs his attention (always the same) to this wall, (even) before a handover. Do you also give the ship pilot here an excess (of payment)? Sie wohnen in Theben, während ich hier allein wohne mit dem Truppenschreiber Pa-en-ta-nachtu. Oh, mögest du veranlassen, daß man die Leute von der Nekropole, die dort sind, in Theben versammelt und daß man sie zu mir bringt, zu dieser Seite. Damit du sie kennst: Pa-en-neset-tawi, Nefer-jmen, Hori-mesu, Wen-imen, Pa-nacht-en-ipet Sohn des Pa-neb-aqu, Imen-hetepu und Qa-djadja - (also) 7 Mann. Gib sie unter die Aufsicht des Schreibers Bu-teh-imen. Laß 〈sie〉 bringen, indem 〈sie〉 schnell eilen und verhindere, daß sie stehen komplett bleiben (wörtl.:wie ein (unbeweglicher) Haufen) - und zwar zusammen mit Pa-cheru und dem Helfer - (also) 9 Mann. Und sende uns, was du gehört hast, um unser Herz zu erfreuen. Aber wenn ein größerer Knabe (Böses) plant, dann sollst du ihn kommen lassen, damit er hier mit uns wohne, ebenso wie Horef-er-nat und ein anderer ebenso. Aber man weiß auch nichts, über eine Ankunft/Attacke seitens der Meschwesch heute, so daß er (=böser Jüngling)(sich?) hätte mit ihm (ab?)sprechen können. Du weißt, was jeden betrifft, der zurückkommt, er richtet seine Aufmerksamkeit (immer gleich) auf diese Mauer, (noch) vor einer Übergabe. Gibst du dem Schiffs-Piloten hier (auch) einen Überschuß (an Bezahlung)?
