[vs. 1-13]: Brief des Ini-heret-chau an den Wesir Chay / oToronto A 11

The worker of the necropolis Inheret-chaii greets his lord, the fan-bearer on the right side of the king, overseer of the crew in the necropolis, the overseer of the pyramid city and vizier - who does what is right - Chaii: In life, health, and prosperity. It is a message to let my 〈lord〉 know. Another communication to my 〈lord〉, that we have worked at the place where my lord commanded: 'Hammer it properly,' but the color was gone from it (=the place). May my lord arrange that I can carry out his perfect plans and may one (therefore) send out, and let the Pharaoh, l.h.g., know. And let an official letter be sent to the Great One of Thebes, to the High Priest of Amun, and to the second priest 〈of Amun〉 as well as to the mayor of Thebes, (thus) the inspectors who are responsible in the treasury of the Pharaoh, l.h.g., to equip us with all that we desire. For the information of my lord: ochre, resin, yellow dye, crimson, red ochre, lapis lazuli substitute, mineral from Nubia, fresh fat for shining, and old clothes for the lamp (wick). And 〈I〉 will fulfill the task that my 〈lord〉 has assigned.

Der Arbeiter der Nekropole Inheret-chaii grüßt seinen Herrn, den Wedelträger zur rechten Seite des Königs, Vorsteher der Mannschaft in der Nekropole, den Vorsteher der Pyramidenstadt und Wesir - der Rechtes tut - Chaii: In Leben-Heil-und-Gesundheit. Eine Sendung ist es, um (es) meinen 〈Herrn〉 wissen zu lassen. Eine weitere Mitteilung an meinen 〈Herrn〉, daß wir an dem Platz gearbeitet haben, an dem mein Herr befohlen hat: 'Hämmert es ordentlich', aber die Farbe war weg von ihm (=dem Platz). Möge mein Herr veranlassen, daß ich seine vollkommenene Pläne ausführen kann und möge man (deswegen) aussenden, und es den Pharao, l.h.g. wissen lassen. Und man schicke ein amtliches Schreiben an den Großen von Theben, an den Hohepriester des Amun, und an den zweiten Priester 〈des Amun〉 sowie an den Bürgermeister von Theben, (also) die Inspektore, welche verantwortlich sind im Schatzhaus des Paharo, l.h.g., um uns auszurüsten mit all dem, was wir wünschen. Zur Information an meinen Herrn: Ocker, Harz, gelber Farbstoff, Rauschrot, roter Ocker, Lapislazuli-Ersatz, Mineral aus Nubien, frisches Fett zum glänzen und alte Kleider für den Lampen(docht). Und 〈ich〉 werde den Auftrag erfüllen, den mein 〈Herr〉 aufgetragen hat.
