The servant Mer-itief greets the singer of Amun Renenutet: In life, health, and well-being, in the favor of Amun-Re, king of the gods. I pray to Re-Harachte at his rising and at his setting, to Amun of Piramesse, l.h.g., to Ptah of Piramesse, l.h.g., to all gods and goddesses of Piramesse, l.h.g., to the great Ka of Re-Harachte (=Ramses II. as a god): Grant that you are healthy, that you live, that you are safe, that I may see you healthy and that I may fill my embrace with you. Furthermore, I have heard all the matters for which you have sent to me. I am in good condition and I live today, but I do not know my condition on the morrow. And then the words that I have said, (namely) that you may send to confirm the validity of the seal impression of my seal - and indeed so that you may see that one has already sent regarding this confirmation before I (have) requested it. Oh, see(?) - (why have you not?/has no one) caused that they bring me a response to my letters, for I have sent them out to inform you: (Namely) one by the hand of the scribe Hy from the king's son Ramses, one by the hand of the shield-bearer Pa-en-Sachmet, one by the hand of the attendant Wsy of Ta-net-Bes, and one by the hand of the attendant Maat-Ptah. Der Diener Mer-itief grüßt die Sängerin des Amun Renenutet: In Leben-Heil-und-Gesundheit, in der Gunst des Amun-Re, des Königs der Götter. Ich bete zu Re-Harachte bei seinem Aufgehen und bei seinem Untergehen, zu Amun von Piramesse, l.h.g., zu Ptah von Piramesse, l.h.g., zu allen Göttern und Göttinnen von Piramesse, l.h.g., zum großen Ka des Re-Harachte (=Ramses II. als Gott): Gebt, daß du gesund bist, daß du lebst, daß du wohlbehalten bist, daß ich dich gesund sehe und daß ich füllen möge meine Umarmung mit dir. Ferner hörte ich alle Angelegenheiten, wegen denen du zu mir geschickt hast. Ich bin in guter Verfassung und ich lebe heute, aber ich kenne mein Befinden am morgigen Tag nicht.
