The Worthy one at Apis-Osiris, Father of the Gods, bearer of the scepter, who judges the gods, Ptah-hotep --...-- son of Nekau-meri-netscheru, whom the lady Renepet-neferet bore; he says: May one follow the god in memory of my good name, because I was devoted to him on earth. I am an Elder (?) on his path, which his god knows (?). For Apis, I had a palace built in the Beautiful West. Never before was the same done. Before every man, I showed (literally: gave) true respect, and from this comes (literally: from This is) the recompense: My son will be placed in the right place forever.
Der Würdige bei Apis-Osiris, Gottesvater, Schärpenträger, der die Götter richtet, Ptah-hotep --...-- Sohn des Nekau-meri-netscheru, den die Herrin Renepet-neferet gebar; er sagt: Möge man dem Gott im Gedenken an meinen guten Namen folgen, weil ich ihm auf der Erde ergeben war. Vor jedem Mann zeigte (wörtl.: gab) ich wahren Respekt und davon kommt (wörtl.: von Diesem ist) die Gegenleistung: Mein Sohn wird auf den richtigen Plaz ewiglich gesetzt.
