Σερηνίλλα Σωκράτῃ τῷ πατρὶ πλεῖσταπλῖστα χαίρειν. πρὸ μὲν πάντων εὔχομαί σεσαι ὑγιαίνεινὑγιαίνιν καὶ τὸ προσκύνημά σου ποιῶ καθʼκατʼ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν παρὰ τῷ κυρίῳ Σαράπιδι καὶ τοῖς συννάοιςσυννέοις θεοῖς. γινώσκεινγεινώσκειν σε θέλω ὅτι μόνη εἰμὶἰμὶ ἐγώ. ἐν νόῳ ἔχῃς ὅτι ἡ θυγάτηρ μου εἰςἰς Ἀλεξάνδρειαν ἐστὶἐσσὶεἶσιἐ͂σσι, ἵνα καὶ ἐγὼκαιγὼ εἰδῶ ὅτι πατέρα ἔχωε ἵναεἵνα μὴ ἴδωσινἴδωσείν με ὡς μὴ ἔχουσαν γονεῖς. καὶ ὁ ἐνεγκώνἐνιγών σοι τὴν ἐπιστολήν, δὸς αὐτῷ ἄλλην περὶ τῆς ὑγιείαςὑίας σου. καὶ ἀσπάζομαι τὴν μητέρα μου καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφούς μου καὶ Σεμπρῶνιν καὶ τοὺς παρʼ αὐτοῦ. ἀπόδος Σωκράτῃ Σκιφᾶ ἀπὸ Σερη νίλλαςΣερηνιλλα θυγατρὸς διὰ Σαραπάμμωνος ἀδελφοῦ αὐτῆς.Translations (1)
Serênilla sendet ihrem Vater Sôkratês herzliche Grüße. Vor allem wünsche ich, daß es dir gut gehe, und bete täglich für dich zum Herrn Serapis und seinen Tempelgenossen. Ich möchte, daß du erfährst, daß ich allein bin; denke doch daran, daß meine Tochter nach Alexandria gereist ist, damit auch ich empfinde, daß ich noch einen Vater habe und die Leute nicht glauben müssen, ich hätte keine Eltern mehr. Und der Überbringer dieses Briefes - gib ihm doch einen anderen mit zurück für deine Tochter. Ich grüße meine Mutter und meine Brüder sowie Sempronius und die Seinen.
