Μανδρόβηι Ἱέραξ ὁ παρὰ σοῦ συμμείξας ἀπέδωκέ μοι ἃ ἐγεγράφειςἐγεγραφει ὑπέρ τε τῶν ποταμοφυλάκων καὶ ἄλλων. τούτοις μὲν οὖν ποταμοφύλαξι τοῦ Πτολεμαικοῦ γέγραφα προπέμψαι ὑμᾶς τὴν οὐραγίαν μέχρι Ἱερᾶς καὶ παραδοῦναι τοῖς ἀπὸ τοῦ Τρωίτου, καὶ ἐκείνοιςκακείνοις δὲ ὅπως σὺν ὑμῖν γένωνται πρὸς τὸ Χιὴ τοῦ Κυνο πολίτου· ὀρθῶς οὖν ποιήσειςποιήσης τοὺς δηλου μένους ποταμοφύλακας συντάξας εὐθαρσεῖς ποιεῖσθαι καμάτους, καὶ ὡς ἂν ἐπὶ τῶν τόπων γένωνται ποιων ἀπαύστωςTranslations (1)
To Mandrobes. Hierax, your agent, having met up with me, gave me what you had written on behalf of the potamophylakes and the others. To the potamophylakes of the Ptolemaikos (river?), therefore, I have written to send the rear-guard up to Hiera (Nesos) and to hand it over to those from the Troite nome, and to the others (I have written) so that they may be with you at Chiê of the Kynopolite nome.
