ΑὐρηλίοιςΑὐρηλίῳ Διονυσίῳ στρατηγῷ Ἀρσινοΐτου Ἡρακλείδου μερίδος καὶ Ἰσιδότῳ τῷ καὶ ὨριγένειἸσιδότωι τῶι καὶ ὨριγένηιἸσιδότωι τῶι καὶ βασιλικῷ γραμματεῖ παρὰ Αὐρηλίας Ταήσεως μητρὸς Τεκιάσεως διὰ φροντιστοῦ τοῦ Πασοκνοπαίου ἀπὸ κώμης Σοκνοπαίου Νήσου. ἀφʼ ὧν ἀπελογισάμηνἀπελογησάμην τῇ τοῦ διεληλυθότος κδ ἔτους ἀπογραφῇ παρεσχημένους κα μήλουςπαρεσχηκέναι καμήλους τελείους δύο εἰς χρείαν εἰς εἰς ἀγγαρίαν γεγενημένην εἰςεἰ ἐπιδημίαν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Αὐτοκράτορος Σεουήρου Ἀντωνίνου δηλῶ μετὰ ἀπογραφὴν καὶ ἐξαρίθμησιν τοῦ αὐτοῦ κδ ἔτους ἐπανεληλυθέναι τοὺς προ κειμένους καμήλους δύο, ἐξ ὧν εἱκύσθαιἡλκύσθαιηθαι ὑπὸ Αὐρηλίου ΚαλουισίουΚαλουισίου Μαξίμου ἑκατοντάρχου τοῦ πεμφθέντος εἰς τοῦτο ἀκολούθως τοῖς γραφεῖσι ὑπὸ Οὐαλερίου Δάτου τοῦ λαμ προτάτου ἡγεμόνος εἰς τὰς ἐν Συρίᾳ κυριακὰς ὑπηρεσίας τῶν γενναιοτάτων στρατευμάτωνστρατευμάτων τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Αὐτοκράτορος Σεουήρου Ἀντωνίνου ἕνα, τὸν δὲ λοι πὸν κάμηλον ἕνα ἀποβληθένταἀποκληθέντα φανέντα ἀνεπιτήδειον ὅνπερ ἀπογράφομαι εἰς τὴν τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος κε ἔτους ἀπογραφὴν ἐπὶ τῆς αὐτῆς κώμης. ἀπεγράφη παρὰ στρατηγῷ κάμηλος α Μεχεὶρ εἀπεγράφη παρὰ στρατηγῷ κάμηλος α ἐχίασα.Translations (2)
An die Aurêli[oi] Dionysi[os, den Strategen des Hêrakleidês-Bezirks des Arsinoïtês], und Isidotos alias [ Hôrigenês , den Königlichen Schreiber ], von Aurêlia Taês[is, Tochter des N.N. und der] Tekiasis, durch den Rechsvertreter [N.N.], Sohn des P[a]soknopaios aus [dem Dorf Soknopaiû] Nêsos. Von den (Kamelen), von denen [ich bei der] Meldung des vergangenen 24. Jahres aufgeführt habe, daß ich zwei ausgewachsene Kamele für den/die/das gemachten für den Besuch unseres [Herren], des Imperator Sev[erus Antoninus] zur Verfügung zu stellen hatte, zeige ich an, daß nach der Meldung und Zählung desselben [2]4. Jahres an die oben erwähnten zwei Kamele ihren Dienst beendet haben . Von ihnen wurde von dem hierfür entsandten centurio [Aur]elius Calvisius [Ma]x[im]us gemäß den Schreiben des Präfekten Valerius Datus, vir clarissimus , für die kaiserlichen Hilfstruppen ( auxilia ) in Syrien der stärksten Truppen unseres Herren, des Imperator Se[v]erus Antoninus, ein Kamel ausgewählt . Das übrige eine Kamel, das zurückgewiesen wurde, weil es untauglich schien, melde ich für die Meldung des gegenwärtigen 25. Jahres im selben Dorf. (2. Hand) Gemeldet wurde beim Strategen 1 Kamel. (3. Hand) Ich habe (den Eintrag) getilgt.
To the Aureli[i] , Dionysi[os, strategos of the Arsinoite nome, Herakleides division,] and Isidotos, alias [ Horigenes , royal scribe ,] from Aurelia Taesi[s, daughter of NN, mother] Tekiasis, through her agent [NN,] son of P[a]soknopaios, from the village of [Soknopaiou] Nesos. Of the (camels), which I listed [in the] registration of the past 24th year, (stating) that I furnished two fully grown camels for (requisition made) for the visit of our lord, Imperator Sev[erus Antoninus], I declare that after the registration and count of the same 24th year, the two aforesaid camels came back, 13 one of which was chosen by [Aur]elius Calvisius [Ma]x[im]us, centurio , who was sent for this purpose according to (the letters) written by the prefect Valerius Datus, vir clarissimus , for imperial service in Syria in the most valiant armies of our lord, Imperator Se[v]erus Antoninus, the other one camel was rejected as it appeared to be unsuitable, and (it is this one) which I register for the registration in the same village of the present 25th year. (m. 2) 1 camel was declared at the office of the strategos . (m. 3) I have crossed off (the entry).
