A memorandum listing items of rigging and tackle to be replaced on a boat, such as yards, sails, stays, braces, a halyard and the lashing of the steering oar. It dates to the mid-3rd century BC and probably comes from Philadelphia in the Arsinoite nome (Fayum).
Several Greek rigging terms (himantes, hyperai, opisthoperai, ankoina) have no exact English equivalents and are rendered approximately. The sender's name on the back is damaged; one description suggests Patron.
Working translation of the DDbDP edition, made with Claude Opus 5.5 from the edition and the catalogue records shown below (catalogued as Replacements of Gear on a Nile Boat). It has not been reviewed by a papyrologist: check the edition before citing. Restorations follow the edition; […] marks lost text and (?) an uncertain reading.
