Reading Ancient Egyptian

Transliteration, English translation, and TLA dictionary links · 34,793 objects.

Records where the Egyptian itself is readable: Manuel-de-Codage transliteration, an English translation (scholarly, or English rendered from the scholarly German), and a link to the Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae. The language corpus (ORAEC) has no photographs of its own, so the sample mixes those texts with museum objects whose catalogues published the signs — offering formulae, stelae, and statues from the Walters, Art Institute, Fitzwilliam, Brooklyn, and the British Museum.

Half the sample is photographed museum pieces with a published reading; the other half is ORAEC texts (transliteration + English), which were issued without images.
