I, the afore-written Ioannes, son of Kyros, humble deacon of the above-mentioned holy topos, acknowledge, through this written security of mine, that I have and was given by your clarity (to fulfill) my own and necessary needs, from hand to hand, the total of two gold imperial genuine solidi, each minus five carats according to the public weight and measure of Antinoopolis, that is 2 solidi minus the sum of 10 carats of the public measure of Antinoopolis. And I (along with my heirs and successors) am ready to (re)pay to your clarity and your successors, within two months counted from today this above-written day, that is twenty-seventh of the present second indiction, without any misunderstandings and postponement, without interest. Upon the arrival of the above-mentioned appointed time if I do not pay back to you the mentioned two solidi minus the sum of ten carats according to the public weight, I grant you the power and licence in every way, without trial and action and whatever argumentation and circumvention of laws, to put a hold against all my property and rents until you fill these two solidi being secured for you on the account of pledge and by the right of mortgage.
