Description

Petition from Dionysia to Julius Varianus, epistrategos of the Heptanomis and Arsinoite nome, enclosing a copy of a petition to Titus Flavianus Titianus, prefect of Egypt and his answer. The petition concerns the ownership of some land which Dionysia claims to have bought but which her opponent, Sarapion alleges she held only on mortgage. Both parties to the dispute were ordered to present themselves in Alexandria. Dionysia did so but Sarapion failed to appear. Dionysia, in the second petition (to the prefect Titianus) requests permission to return to her home and to have the case decided there
