To Gaius Avidius Heliodorus, Prefect of Egypt, from [name], from the village of Karanis, of the Heracleides division, of the Arsinoite Nome. Being a public and private farmer, and also a choiak farmer, my father, lord, happens to have died and left a will by which he made all his properties over to the name of the two Lucius Antistius Gemelli because I, being in the public service, they preserved my personal [property], which I still derive income from, and which [properties] I have also paid the public expenses for. Judge me under the officials of the Nome with their duties and tax collection agency. I am of the village, and until today, lord, remaining also released from the military service and formerly engaged in reversing with those with him Sabinus and of my property I held some for many years enduring many wounds and of my wife [damage] employment in one and a half talents to Sabinus now currently in the military service is not [clear] I consider it, lord, if it seems good to your fortune concerning [I have] to write to him the Heracleides division [damage] for me and my wealth and concerning the outrage which I have to say against them and also I through your benefactor [to receive my belongings] and Antistius Gemellus concerning well-being benefited. May things go well encounter the most noble general who will do what is fitting.
