ἔτους τρισκαιδεκάτου Αὐτοκράτορος Καίσαρος Τραιανοῦ Ἁδριανοῦ Σεβαστοῦ μηνὸς Νέου Σεβαστοῦ γ ἐν Καρανίδι τῆς Ἡρα κλείδου μερίδος τοῦ ἈρσινοίτουἈρσινοείτου νομοῦ. ὁμολογεῖ Ἁτρῆς Παπεῖτος Πέρσης τῆς ἐπιγο νῆς ὡς ἐτῶν πεντήκοντα δύο οὐλὴ με τώπωι μέσωι Πασίωνι Χαιρήμωνος ὡς ἐτῶν εἴκοσι ἐννέα οὐλὴ καρπῶι ἀριστερῷ ἔχειν παρʼ αὐτοῦ παραχρῆμα διὰ χειρὸς ἔξ οἴκου ἀργυρίου δραχμὰς ἑκατὸν καὶ πυροῦ ἀρτάβας πεντεκαίδεκα κυρ.ς καὶ τὴν ἀπόδοσιν ποιήσεται ὁ Ἁτρὴς τῶι Πασίωνι ἐν μηνὶ Παῦνι τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος τρισκαιδεκάτου ἔτους Ἁδριανοῦ Καίσαρος τοῦ κυρίου, ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀποδῶι συνχωρεῖ Ἁτρὴς γεωργεῖνγεωργῖν καὶ καρπίζεσθαι ἀφ ὧν γεωργεῖγεωργῖ ὁ Ἁτρὴς περὶ Πατσῶντιν δημοσίου ἐδάφους ἀρούρας τρεῖςτρῖς ἐν τοῖς ωσι ἀντὶ τῶν τόκων καὶ ἡμιολίας καὶ τῶν ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν δημοσίων μέχρι οὗ ἀπο δῶι τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ πυρόν γινομένηςγενομένησ τῶι Πασίωνι τῆς πράξεως ἐκ τοῦ ὁμο λογοῦντος καὶ ἐκ τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐτῶι πάντων καθάπερ ἐκἐγ δίκης. ὑπογραφεῖς Ἁτρὴς Παπεῖτος Πέρσης τῆς ἐπιγονῆς ὁμο λογῶ ἔχειν παρὰ τοῦ Πασίωνος τοῦ Χαιρή μωνος διὰ χειρὸς ἐξ οἴκου ἀργυρί ου δραχμὰς ἑκατὸν καὶ πυροῦ ἀρτάβας πεντεκαίδεκα ὧν τὴν ἀπόδοσιν ποιήσω ἐν μηνὶ Παῦ νι ἀποδ τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος τρισκαιδεκάτου ἔτουςτο Ἁδριανοῦ ν ὁμολογία Ἁτρῆτος τοῦ Παπεῖτος πρὸς ΠασίωναTranslations (1)
In the thirteenth year of the reign of Emperor Caesar Trajan Hadrian Augustus, in the month of New Augustus, the third day, in [the location of] Karanis of the Hera Cleidos district of the Arsinoite nome. Hatres, son of Papeitos, a Persian of the descent, approximately fifty-two years old, scar on the middle of the face, acknowledges that he has received immediately from Pasion, son of Chairemon, approximately twenty-nine years old, scar on the left wrist, from his house, one hundred silver drachmas and fifteen artabas of wheat. Hatres will make the repayment to Pasion in the month of Pauni of the current thirteenth year of Hadrian Caesar the lord. If he does not repay, Hatres agrees to cultivate and harvest from the lands that he, Hatres, is farming, three arouras of public land at Pachontas, in lieu of interests and obligations above them, until he repays the silver and wheat. The transaction will be executed by Pasion from the assets and possessions of the said confessant, as if by legal action. Subscribed by Hatres, son of Papeitos, Persian of the descent, I acknowledge having received from Pasion, son of Chairemon, by hand from his house, one hundred silver drachmas and fifteen artabas of wheat, which I will repay in the month of Pauni of the current thirteenth year of Hadrian, the acknowledgment of Hatres, son of Papeitos, to Pasion.
