Ζήνωνι χαίρειν οἱ μελισσουργοὶ οἱ ἐκ τοῦ Ἀρσινοίτου νομοῦ. ἔγραψας περὶ τῶν ὑποζυγίων ἵνα παραγένηται εἰς Φιλαδέλφειαν καὶ ἐργάσηται ἡμέρας ι. ἤδη δέ ἐστιν αὐτοῖς ιη ἡμέραι ἀφʼ οὗ ἐργάζονται, τὰ δὲ μελίσ σεια ἐν ἀγρῶι ἔρριπταιἐριπται καὶ ἔστιν ὁ καιρὸς τοῦ ἀνενέγκαι αὐτὰ καὶ οὐκ ἔχομεν ὑποζύγια ἀναγαγεῖν. οὐκ ὀλίγον οὖν φόρον φέρομεν τῶι βασιλεῖ. ἐὰν οὖν μὴ ὅτι τάχος ἀποστα λῆι τὰ ὑποζύγια, συμβήσεται τά τε μελίσσεια ἀπολέσθαι καὶ τὸν φόρον διαπεσεῖν. καὶ νῦν διαμαρτύρονται οἱ γεωργοὶ διότι, τὸ ὕδωρ ἀφίεμενἀφίομεν καὶ τὰ ξύλα ἐμπυρίζομεν. ἐὰν οὖν μὴ ἄρητε αὐτά, ἀπολεῖτε. δεόμεθα οὖν σου, εἴ σοι δοκεῖ, ἀποστεῖλαιαφοστειλαι ἡμῶν τὰ ὑποζύγια, ἵνα ἄρωμεν. ὅταν δὲ ἀράντων χρείαν ἔχηις, παρεσόμεθα πάλιν. εὐτύχει.
