Αὐρήλιος Ἀρίους περιλέλυμαιπαιριλαίλυμαι πρὸςπρὼς τὴν γυναῖκά μου Ἀπίαν ἑκουσίᾳαἱκουσίᾳ γνώμῃ καὶ οὐκ ἐπελεύσομαιαἰπαιλαίσομαι ἐπ’αἰπ’ αὐτὴν περὶπαιρὶ οὐδενὸςοὐδαινὸς ἁπλῶς πράγματοςπράματος καὶ ἀπεταξάμηνἀπαιταξάμιν τῶντὸν παιδίωνπαιδίον ὡς πρόκειταιπρώκιται καὶ ἐπερωτηθείςἐπαι ρτηθὶς ὡμολόγησα. In the consulship of the most illustrious Valentinian, son of our lord Valens the eternal Augustus, and Flavius Victorinus, of the most splendid, the fifth year being entered. The Aurelii, Apia daughter of Afonis mother of Alillas from the settlement of Philoxenus, in the presence and with the consent of her mother Aurelia Alillas daughter of Amunes, from the same settlement of Philoxenus, and Aris son of Atouphos mother of Irene from the village of Dinna, dwelling in the settlement of Harpokra, agree and dissolve their relationship to one another voluntarily and of their own accord, considering this dissolution advantageous to themselves. Their unlawful cohabitation, which was established without a written contract, is thereby dissolved, and each party is free to manage their own affairs as they see fit. Apia is free to join in union with another man without any kind of slander. She has also withheld the dowry she brought to him intact. Aris, the man, acknowledges that he retains all of his belongings intact and vows not to make claims or bring accusations against each other regarding matters related to their cohabitation or concerning any other issue, whether written or verbal, of debt, demand, or charge, from previous times up to the present day in no way whatsoever. As for their minor children from each other, Arinis five years old and Amoutis one year old, they remain with the mother to be raised and managed, with nothing having been taken from their father Aris, who renounces the children. He further acknowledges he will never again pursue her concerning these children. Apia and her mother Alillas likewise pledge not to pursue Aris concerning support or any other matter entirely because they have settled like this, being questioned, they agreed. Aurelius Aris dissolved [marriage] with my wife Apia of free will and will not pursue her regarding absolutely no matter whatsoever and renounce the children as it is stated and being questioned I agreed. Aurelius Psiax, son of Sarapion, I wrote in his stead because he is illiterate.
