ὁμολο γοῦμεν μεμισθῶσθαι παρὰ σοῦ τὰς περὶ Μέμφεως ἀρούρας τεσσεράκοντα πλέον ἔλαττον ἐπὶ χρόνον ὅσον βούλει ἀπὸ καρπῶν τῆς εὐτυχοῦς εἰσιούσης ἐνάτης ἰνδικτίωνος ἐπὶ τῷ τὰ περιγιγνόμενα ἐξ αὐτῶν τῶν ἀρουρῶν τῶν μὲν ὀσπρέων σοὶσὺ τῷ γεούχῳ μέρη δύο καὶ ἡμῖν τοῖς γεωργοῖς μέρος ἕν , τοῦ δὲ χόρτου σοὶσὺ τῷ γεούχῳ μέρη πέντε καὶ ἡμῖν μέρος ἕν , καὶ ἐπάναγκες ἐπιτελέσωμεν τὰ πρὸς τὴν καλλιεργίαν τῶν ἀρουρῶν ἔργα πάντα ἀκαταγνώστως πρὸς τῷ ἡμᾶς καὶ τὴν δέσιν τοῦ παντὸς χόρτου ποιεῖσθαι τῆς τε κοπῆς τοῦ χόρτου ἑκάστου κατὰ τὰ μέρη, τῶν δὲ παντοίων τετραπόδων καὶ προ χρείας σπερμάτων πρὸς σὲ τὸν γεοῦχον κατακειμένωνκατακιμένων ενων τῶν σπερ μάτων καὶ ἁλωεισμοῦ καὶ δραγματηγίαςδραμτηγίας ἀπὸ κοινῆς vestigesδώσωμεν δὲ ἐρύφια η πρὸς τὸ γάλα κατὰ κυριακὴν vestiges ἡ μίσ θωσις κυρία καὶ ἐπερωτηθέντες ὡμολογήσαμενὡμολλογήσαμεν Αὐρήλιοι ἈμάειοςἈμασι Διωσκόρου καὶ ὁ τούτου υἱὸς Φιλόξενος ἀμπελουργοὶ οἱἡ προκείμενοι μεμισθώμεθαμεμισθόμαιθα τὰς προγεγραμμένας ἀρούρας ὡς πρόκειται. We acknowledge having leased from you the forty arouras more or less around Memphis for as long as you wish, from the harvest of the fortunate ninth indiction, with the surplus from these fields of the pulses being two parts for you, the landowner, and one part for us, the farmers; and of the grass five parts for you, the landowner, and one part for us. We are obliged to complete all the works pertaining to the cultivation of the fields without fault and also to bind all the grass we cut proportionately, and concerning various quadrupeds and for sowing needs assigned to you, the landowner, regarding seeds and [uncertain] from shared [resources]. We shall provide kids in relation to milk according to [uncertain] the lease is valid and being asked, we, Aurelios Amaeios (Amasis), son of Dioskoros, and his son Philoxenos, the vine-dressers, acknowledge having leased the aforementioned fields as stated. Aurelios Paulos, son of Philippos, from the city of Arsinoites, wrote for them being illiterate.
