Κύλινδρος Ἀπολλωνίωι τῶι φιλτάτωι χαίρειν. ὑπέλαβές με πέμψας μοι τὰ κριθάρια. ἐὰν οὖν δοκῇ σοι τὰς ἄλλας δύο μοι ἀρ τάβας πέμψαι ἢ πλείονας, ἵνʼ ᾖς μοι τελείαν χάριτα παρέξας ἐν τοιούτωι και ρῶι. οἶδα γάρ σου τὸ μέτρον μεῖζον τοῦ ἐμοῦ ἄρτι. προκειμένου ἐὰν δέ σοι δόξῃ καὶ περὶ τῶν ἐριδίων, ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἐνῆν ἐρίδια, λογάριονλογάρινχάριν ποιήσαςποισας πέμψεις μοι τὸ πρόλοιπον καὶ τὸν σάκκον, ἵνα σχῶι εἰςἰς τὴν ἑορτήν. ἐὰν ἀναβῇς τῇ ἑορτῇ, ἵνα ὁμόσε γενώ μεθα, καὶ μὴ ὑπερηφανή σῃς. ἄσπασαι τὰ παιδία καὶ τὴν σύμβιόν σου. ἔρρωσο. Cylindros to Apollonios, the dearest, greetings. You have assumed in sending me the barley. Therefore, if it seems good to you to send me the other two or more measures, you would do me a complete favor in this manner. For I know that your measure is presently greater than mine. Accordingly, if it seems good to you also concerning the lambs, but if there are no lambs, having made an account you will send me the remainder and the sack, so that I may have them for the festival. If you ascend (i.e., travel) during the festival, that we may be together, do not be haughty. Greet the children and your wife. Farewell. Mesore 18. To Apollonios, son of Theoktistos.
