To Statilius Maximus, most eminent strategos, from Soedotos (Toedotos?) of the Mesoe, from the metropolis of the Arsinoite nome. In the twelfth year of Antoninus Caesar the lord, [I was appealed to (?)]. I have been accused in regard to taxes by those tax collectors who were there at the time concerning the inheritance befalling me from the will of Julius Chaeremonius, what he owed for the inheritance of silver (?), accordingly with the contract I have. A certain Capitolinus and those with him continually and annoyingly approach me wanting to task me and collect matters which I do not owe regarding the taxes of the contract possessed by me. Therefore, since these men do not cease from their harassment against me, showing contempt for the quiet sought by me and the commands by all the governors regarding such matters that [one] should not transgress, I have been forced to take refuge in your help and request that they finally desist from their harassment against me so that I, a woman alone, may be able to deal [with this] having been benefited by you. Be fortunate.
