Year 26 of Aurelius Commodus Antoninus Caesar, the lord, [Tho]th 21. Pa[kys]is, son of Stotoetis the younger, the son of Stotoetis, priest, having presented my own son Horos from his mother Pha[u]es from the Herakleides division of the Arsinoite nome, requesting that permission be given to him that his son should be circumcised because he has produced certificates of birth to the royal (scribe) of the nome, who is administering the office of the strategos , and <having submitted> a letter written concerning him, Ioulianos enquired of the keepers of the sacred records , whether the boy has any blemish. Upon their saying that he is without a blemish Salvius Ioulianos, high-priest and minister for the temple administration , by appending his signature to the letter gave permission for the boy to be circumcised in accordance with custom.
