The Cross-Source Spine

Trismegistos-Text IDs linking DDbDP, HGV and APIS · 98,449 objects.

The unique-in-the-world claim of this database: a single Trismegistos ID stitches together a Greek papyrus's text edition (DDbDP), its scholarly metadata and dating (HGV), and the collection record of the physical papyrus (APIS). The spine is not just an index — records inherit across it, so a text edition with no findspot of its own is placed on the map from the excavation record of the same papyrus. Anything borrowed that way is labelled on the object page. A few hundred of those papyri now carry a photograph (Duke APIS); the rest are the edition and the metadata.
