ἔτους ἐνάτου καὶ τριακοστοῦ τῆς Καίσαρος κρατήσεως θεοῦ υἱοῦ μηνὸς Δαισίου ἐνάτῃ Φαρμοῦθι ἐνάτῃ ἐν Φιλαγρίδι τῆς Θε μίστου μερίδος τοῦ Ἀρσινοίτου νομοῦ. ὁμολογεῖ Ἁρθώτης Μαρρήους Θέωνι Πετερμούθιος ἐλαιουρ γῶι τοῦ ἐν Φιλαγρίδι Λιβίας καὶ Γερμανικοῦ Καίσαρος οὐσίας ἐλαιουργίου ἔχειν παρʼ αὐτοῦ ἀργυρίου ἐπισήμου κεφαλαίουκεφαλίου δραχμὰς ὀγδοήκοντα καὶ ἀντὶ τούτων παρέξεσθαι τὴν ἑαυτοῦ θυγατέρα Τααυνῆν παραμέ νουσαν τῶι Θέωνι ἐφʼ ἔτη δύο καὶ μῆνας ἓξ ἀπὸ μηνὸς Παχὼν τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος ἐνάτου καὶ τριακοστοῦ ἔτους Καίσαρος παρεμβάλλουσαν ἐν τῶι δηλουμένωι ἐλαιουργίωι ἅμα δὲ καὶ διατρίβουσαν καὶ ποιοῦσαν τὰ ἐπιτασσόμενα πάντα οὐ γινομένην ἀπόκοιτον οὐδʼ ἀφήμερον ἀλλὰ καὶ συνακoλουθοῦσανσυνακλουθοῦσαν αὐτῶι πανταχῆι κατὰ τὸν νομὸν τρεφομένηντρεφομένη καὶ ἱματιζομένηνἱματιζομένη ὑπὸ Θέωνος. ἑκάστης δὲ ἡμέρας ἧς ἐὰν ἀπαλλαγῇ ἐντὸς τοῦ χρόνου ἐκτείσειἐκτίσι δραχμὴν μίαν. μὴ ἐξέστωἐξέστωι οὖν τῶι Ἁρθώτῃ ἐντὸς τοῦ χρόνου ἀποσπᾶν τὴν θυγατέρα μηδʼ αὐτὴν ἀπαλλα γῆναι. ἐὰν δʼ ἀποσπάσωσι ἢ καὶ αὐτὴ ἡ θυγάτηρ ἀπαλλαγῇ ἢ κλέ πτουσα ἢ καταβλάπτουσα ἢ νοσφιζομένη ἁλίσκηταί τι τῶν Θέωνος ἔτους λθ Καίσαρος Φαρμοῦθι θ ἐν Φιλαγρίδι ἀναγέγραπται διὰ ρου Ἁρθώτης Μαρήους Πέρσης τῆς ἐπιγονῆς ὁμολογῶ ἔχεινἔχιν παρὰ Θέωνος τοῦ Πετερμούθιος ἐλαιουρ γοῦ τοῦ ἐν Φιλαγρίδι ἐλαιουργίου Λιβίας καὶ Γερμα νικου Καίσαρος οὐσίας ἀργυρίου ἐπισήμου κεφαλαίουκεφα λέου δραχμὰς ὀγδοήκοντα καὶ ἀντὶ τούτων παρέ ξομεν τὴν θυγατέρα μου Τααυνῆν παραμένουσαν τῷ Θέωνι ἐφʼ ἔτη δύο καὶ μῆνας ἓξ ἀπὸ μηνὸς Παχὼν τοῦ ἐνεστῶτοςἐνοστῶτος ἐνάτου καὶ τριακοστοῦ ἔτους Καίσαρος παρεμβάλλουσαν ἐπὶ τοῦ δηλουμένου ἐλαιουργίουἐλαιουργείου, ἅμα δὲ καὶ διατρίβουσαν καὶ ποιοῦσανπυοῦσαν τὰ ἐπιτασσό μενα πάντα οὐ γινομένην ἀπόκοιτον οὐδʼ ἀφή μερον ἀλλὰ καὶ συνακoλουθοῦσανσυνακλουθοῦσαν αὐτῷ πανταχῆ κατὰ τὸν νομὸν τρεφομένηντρεφομένη καὶ ἱματιζομένηνεἱματιζομένη ὑπὸ τοῦ Θέωνος. ἑκάστης δὲ ἡμέρας ἧς ἐὰν ἀπαλλα γῇ ἐκτίσω δραχμὴν μίαν καὶ τὰ ἄλλα ποήσω κα θὼς πρόκειται. ἔγραψεν ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ Πτολεμαῖος Πτολεμαίου ἀξιωθεὶςἀξιωθὶς διὰ τὸ μὴ εἰδέναι αὐτὸν γράμματα. ὁμολογία παραμονῆς κορασίου εἰς ἔτη β μῆνας ϛ Θέωνι Πετερμούθιος ὑπὸ Ἁρθώτου Μαρρήους.Translations (1)
Body contract In the [thirty]-ninth year of the dominion of Caesar, son of a god, [on the ninth of the month] Daisios, ninth of Pharmouthi, in Philagris [of the Themistos meris of the Arsinoite] nome. Harthotes, son of Marres, [Persian of the epigone (?)], acknowledges to Theon, son of Petermouthis, oil maker of the oil mill on the estate of Livia and Germanicus Caesar in Philagris, that he has received from him eighty drachmas of minted silver as a capital sum and in return for these he will provide his daughter Tahaunes who will remain with Theon for two years and six months from the month of Pachon of the present thirty-ninth year of Caesar, feeding olives at the indicated oil mill as well as staying and doing everything that is ordered, not being absent by night or by day, but following him everywhere throughout the nome, being fed and clothed by Theon. And for each day on which she is absent within the period he will pay one drachma. So it shall not be permissible for Harthotes to remove his daughter within the period nor for her to leave. If they remove her or the daughter herself leaves or she is caught stealing or damaging or removing anything belonging to Theon vacat Registration docket Year 39 of Caesar, Pharmouthi 9, in Philagris. Registered through NN. Subscription I, Harthotes, son of Marres, Persian of the epigone, acknowledge that I have received from Theon, son of Petermouthis, oil maker of the oil mill on the estate of Livia and Germanicus Caesar in Philagris eighty drachmas of minted silver as a capital sum and in return for these I shall provide my daughter Tahaunes to remain with Theon for two years and six months from the month of Pachon of the present thirty-ninth year of Caesar, feeding olives at the indicated oil mill as well as staying and doing everything that is ordered, [not] being absent by night or by day, but following him everywhere throughout the nome, being fed and clothed by Theon.
