In der Nacht [zum] 21. des gegenwärtigen [Monats Pa]yni, kamen Leute, die wir [nicht kennen], zu den privaten Grundstücken beim Dorf Bûbaston, die wir bestellen, und verschleppten unsere Behälter mit Gemüsesamen zu einem anderern Trockenplatz, nicht weniger als zwölf Behälter. Daher reichen wir (die Eingabe) ein und ersuchen darum, daß die nötige Untersuchung angestellt wird durch diejenigen, die dafür zuständig sind, und uns zu gestatten, das uns Gestohlene an uns zu nehmen, und uns wäre durch Dich geholfen. To [A]mmonius Paternus, centurio , from Akiaris, son of Esoueris, and Onnophris, son of Panephremmis, residing in the hamlet of Ma[rempi]s , near Herakleia, [Themist]os division. On the night before the 21st of the present month [Pa]yni, certain persons, whom we do not know, came to the private areas of land, which we farm, near the village of Boubastos. And they carried off our vessels of vegetable-seed to another drying floor, no fewer than twelve vessels. Therefore we submit (this petition) and request that the necessary enquiry be made by those responsible for it, and that we are allowed to take away what was stolen from us and that we may be helped by you.
