The copy of the document that was brought to him was what had been brought from the fortress of Elephantine, as something that gives a fortress to (another) fortress. Let your heart be informed, being healthy and well, that 2 Medja men, 3 Medja women, and 2 children have descended from the desert in the 3rd year of the reign, in the 3rd month of the Peret season, on the 27th day, and they said: We have come to serve the house of the palace, l.h.g. When asked about the matter of the desert, they also immediately said: We hear no news, but the desert is dying from hunger, so they say. Then the servant ordered that they should be (sent) back to their desert (areas) (even) on that day. But then one of these Medja women said: Oh, if only I had been given to my husband in this ... . And then the Medja man said: Is only the one who presents himself also one who may trade (?)...?
